About the session
The Panel Discussion presents and discusses innovative approaches to enhance preventive measures and care for childhood health, particularly for those living with Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs). By focusing on early, community-driven, and system-level multi-sector interventions, we aim to inspire partnerships to protect the next generation's health and well-being, regardless of geography or income level.
Key focus:
• City-wide solutions: A city-wide strategy that places child health at the heart of public policy, planning, education, and community engagement.
• Child-centric solutions: How health systems, national policymakers, schools, and families can work together to tackle the growing burden of obesity and NCDs in childhood.
• Perspectives from youth living with NCDs: Examples of building capacity for local healthcare systems and educating families and children to manage type 1 diabetes in low-resource settings.
• Private sector commitment: How multi-sectoral public-private partnerships catalyse the transformation of child health and well-being through evidence-based, local interventions in NCD prevention and care.
The session will show what is possible when all stakeholders invest in children to build the optimal conditions for lifelong health.
