About the session
In the face of a severe global funding crisis for Reproductive Health (RH), with donor investments dropping dramatically, mitigating measures are urgently needed. While new donors are stepping up, a full recovery of lost funding is unlikely, and demand for RH supplies and services are steeply increasing due to population growth and a constant change of social norms in many Low-and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). Ideas on how to close the gap do not necessarily need to be new, but they might need a crisis like this to have a new chance. Will private investment help to create access, supporting a total market approach? How to mobilize domestic funding and give more decision power to recipient countries, even on a sub-national level? What can be the role of local manufacturing? How can country-led pulled procurement improve supply security? How can Artificial Intelligence (AI) be helpful? Should health programs become more focused, either on countries involved or health areas covered? Or is it a good time to double down on integrated care, thinking family planning and maternal & child health more closely aligned with primary care programs for women and families? We will discuss these topics from a global strategic view down to operational levels, when taking innovative partnership programs as example cases for the different options at hand. The Panel Discussion shall provide insights into both lessons learned and barriers to overcome, featuring the expert level insights of participants.
