About the session
Across Europe, health systems have continuously demonstrated their capacity to adapt to changing conditions. In the face of continuing challenges - be these political transformation processes, supply chain vulnerabilities, digital transformation, the impacts of climate change and heatwaves, demographic shifts and the increased burden of non-communicable diseases, in particular, of cardiovascular diseases - innovative approaches are needed to enhance health care system resilience in the interest of all citizens across Europe today and in the future.
This high-level session will explore how European countries are responding to these dynamics to make sure their health systems remain responsive, equitable, and robust. The discussion will focus on adaptation processes, strategic priorities, and opportunities for further development. While national contexts vary, many efforts share common principles worth identifying and examining together and potentially warranting replication across Europe.
