About the session
Accelerating the journey from basic biomedical research to clinical application remains a major challenge. This session explores how to improve the interface between laboratory discoveries and clinical implementation—starting at the earliest stages. Key questions include: How can we streamline collaboration between basic and clinical researchers? What structural, cultural, and methodological shifts are needed in both domains to enhance translational efficiency?
The discussion will also address the role of start-ups and incubators in bridging the gap between scientists and doctors, enabling innovative solutions to move faster from bench to bedside. Additionally, we will explore how regulatory frameworks can become more adaptive without compromising safety and rigor. By identifying specific bottlenecks and proposing actionable solutions, this session aims to foster a more integrated and agile ecosystem for biomedical innovation. Participants will gain insights into how to design research and organizational structures that are inherently more translational from the outset.
