About the session
The Global Preparedness Monitoring Board (GPMB) invites participants to a lunchtime session marking the launch of its 2025 report, The New Face of Pandemic Preparedness. The session will advance the report's key proposal for a Global Pandemic Risk Observatory: a mechanism to consolidate and align risk analyses from across partners and institutions, providing timely, policy-relevant insights to guide preparedness and response. The Observatory would support the implementation of the International Health Regulations and the World Health Organization (WHO) Pandemic Agreement, strengthening strategic planning through impartial, coordinated risk monitoring. A panel of global leaders and experts will discuss the reports' key findings and the case for investing in enhanced foresight and early warning capacities. The session aims to catalyze action toward a more transparent, data-driven, and collaborative global preparedness system.
