About Mari Tikkanen
Mari Tikkanen is the CEO and Co-Founder of Scope Impact, leading its mission to protect health in a changing climate. She works with our interdisciplinary team, communities and global partners to design and scale climate–health solutions across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
For more than 25 years, Mari has worked at the intersection of global health, rights, and innovation, advancing co-designed, community- and patient-driven approaches that strengthen health systems and expand access to life-saving services. Before co-founding Scope in 2008, she served with WHO South-East Asia, UNFPA, IPPF, AMREF, and Aurat Foundation in Pakistan.
Mari holds an MSc in Population and Development from the London School of Economics and a BSc in Sociology from the University of Helsinki. She is a frequent global speaker on social innovation, serves on advisory boards including Ashoka Nordic, and co-founded the Missing Billion Initiative, advancing disability-inclusive health system transformation worldwide.
