Christoph Benn

Christoph Benn MD MPH, is the Director of the JLI Center for Global Health Diplomacy based in Geneva. He is also serving as Chair of the Board of Health AI – The Global Agency for Responsible AI in Health. He has more than 30 years of experience in global health and been a co-founder of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria serving as Director of External Relations of this organization for more than 15 years and managing the first five replenishment cycles. Building on that he is specialized in innovations in health care financing in low- and middle-income countries and is advising several global health and development organizations. His particular focus is the funding and promotion of responsible, inclusive and equitable digital transformation of health systems and the responsible use of AI in countries in countries of all income levels to maximize the opportunities of these technologies for the health of all people. Apatrt from his role at HealthAI, Christoph Benn also serves as President of the Transform Health coalition, as Chair of the Asia Pacific Leaders Malaria Alliance (APLMA), is a Member of the Advisory Board of the Global Health Hub Germany and Member of the Board of Friends of the Global Fund Europe. He holds an MD from the University of Giessen, Germany, an MPH from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, Baltimore and a DTM&H from the University of Liverpool.
