About Isaac Sjahrir Djauhari
Izak Jenie is an advisor to the Ministry of Health in Indonesia, helping to streamline the country's digital platform and healthcare digitalization efforts. In his role at the Ministry, he has architected and built healthcare platforms, designed and implemented digital processes to eliminate costly user roadblocks, and identified efficiencies in the system. He is the designer of several successful initiatives, including Pedulilindungi, Telemedicine, SatuSehat, Stunting, TB/infectious disease, primary care and Vaccines.
Izak is a team member of the Indonesia Government Biobank initiatives called BGSI. In field of genomics and bioinformatics, the team are responsible for designing and integrating platforms for genomics data collection and storage, and allowing for easy access and sharing of data with researchers and clinicians.
Izak Jenie serves as Deputy Chairman of the National AI Healthcare Working Group under Indonesia’s Ministry of Health, leading national strategy and innovation efforts to embed artificial intelligence across the country’s healthcare ecosystem. He has led major initiatives such as the AI for Healthcare Hackathon Series to accelerate innovation, the design of national protocols for AI-based medical imaging for tuberculosis and lung cancer detection, and collaborations with global institutes to fine-tune open-source AI models using Indonesian clinical data—now being deployed to assist diagnostics in community clinics and the national health screening program.
Izak also pioneers AI-driven document intelligence to streamline medical equipment verification and procurement, ensuring transparency and speed in public health acquisitions. In parallel, he oversees initiatives to apply AI in automating hospital insurance claims, accelerating fund disbursement and financial efficiency across the healthcare network.
